Sony FX-3D, Z-3D, Canon H-3D

Same specs as the original cameas, but each 1080i filed is recorded from a differnt point (eye distance separation) via a special lens or a mirror arrangement with LCD shutters.

When can we expect this to come to the market? 3D LCD screens, notebooks and TV sets that don't require glasses are either available now or will be available soon. Kodak has some special sheets that you put over the screen to allow 3D viewing without glasses.

I see the porn industry to be the first to get into 3D. I've read that HD porn is the future, but I think that 3D SD may be more appealing to some dirty old man lusting for something better than his 80 year old 400 lb whale that he nurtures at home. 3D HD will take the porn industry by storm. The stuff that has been shot until now will not have much longevity.

IMO 3D will be like the transition from B&W to colour. It take quite a while, especially to get into lower level cameras.

3D never made real any real impact in theaters, mainly because of the glasses. Once glasses will not be needed for home viewing, I think that demand for 3D will be tremendous. It may be like the transition from silent film to talkies. It was very quick. I think that I read that Kodak has technology, which is still improving, that will allow 3D in theaters, without glasses.

I think sound gave a whole new realm to storytelling, B&W to colour didn't, it just added a new level to the visual palette. I think 3D is more comparable to that.

Once people had talkies, they didn't what to go back to more primative storytelling, but 3D won't improve the actually storytelling, which is almost all audiences care about. That's just my guess anyway. :)

I would love to see a 60' HD 3D plasma in my sitting room. Hopefully in my lifetime!
