Chris Hurd March 3rd, 2006 09:53 AM

Excellent, that goes well with the HD100 leaf blower!

Rik Sanchez March 3rd, 2006 10:03 AM

11 hours to go on the bid you say...maybe I ought to put in a bid for it, that's just the mod I need on an XL-2 for when I'm shooting in a crowded club and I need to clear the people out in front of me.

Stephen Finton March 3rd, 2006 11:10 AM

I heard its tape mechanism is noisy.

This particular mod is designed specifically for those who prefer the live edit.

Yeah, or to only do some rough cuts.

Is the chain resolve enough details for an XLH1?

Not really, this was mainly introduced to users who derided Canon for eliminating the 'grain feature'. Canon introduced a novel spin on the idea. (Think about it)

They also added major enhancements to the stabilizing feature to counteract the 'pull-start' mechanism.

thanks guys.. you're only making this picture better for me

Andrew Todd March 3rd, 2006 01:51 PM

many new owners have been complaining of the new xl2 eating and shredding tape.

Andrew Todd March 3rd, 2006 02:20 PM

and also are complaining about the switch from lithium batteries to a mixture of gasoline and oil. Because of the rising cost of gas many xl2 owners have given up on digital video beacuse of the cost associated with powering this monster and have converted back to shooting with film as a cheaper alternative

Andrew Todd March 3rd, 2006 02:24 PM

i might actually buy this tonite.. and make a short about it. i dont want anyone outbidding me .... OK!!!??

Chris Hurd March 3rd, 2006 02:26 PM

Moved to Area 51, where it belonged in the first place. Tell us if you win the auction, Andrew!

Andrew Todd March 3rd, 2006 02:26 PM

sorry chris .. ill let you know.. thanks for letting it hang around for awhile though..

Jonathan Jones March 3rd, 2006 02:41 PM

early reports of this mod include major disappointment in the ongoing problem with camera noise in the on-board mic. It is considered a given with this particular model.

Also noted is the enhanced intimidation aspect with on-camera talent where the 'deer in the headlights' expression has become the norm in front of this camera, even for seasoned newscast vets.
