Apple Revolution, or sizzle.

In a recent thread, somebody told me about some interesting rumours on more macbooks at a few rumor sites, I had looked at one of them previously in the day, so though he must be mistaken, but I looked at the other and I found more, much more in fact. Do the rumors below reflect a true Apple revolution, or are they just wishful thinking/joke by somebody up the chain.

(Only a recent articles, so no direct links to it yet)

Thin Macbook new lower powered core, MultiGPU Gamer Macbook (ATI X1800/1900/nVIDIA nForce chipset and dual GeForce 7800GTX Mobile GPU's under consideration, interesting even for video) more powerful core 2 duo and core 2 extreme. Assertion that a future MacOSX goign up against Vista, will do multiple core farms, various user interface types, and xscale/embedded devices etc. Super fast wireless.

Dual GPU Gaming Imac and Gaming Macbook (single core CPU?). Thin Macbook:

Next Gen Ipod:

Dual next gen core gaming Imac, Dual ATI GPU Imac:

Upgraded cheaper Mac Mini with better Intel On board graphics end of year, and next gen Ipod again:

Next gen MacOSX, slim fast and efficient, many core capability:

Universal API development so programs will run on Windows. The Thin Macbook with ATI x1300 GPU, and the Ibook. IO Flash Cache, Iphone again.

If this stuff turns out to be true, then the Mac is in for a fifth wave.

The site has got to be one of the worst sites I have ever seen, not only do they pop an ad out first thing on the text you are reading (while the ad is still blank and loading) when I tried to close it, it redirected the whole page to an ad, and the pages have too much ad space, and the pages seem to want to reload themselves too much, really stuffing your system performance around like a virus. I have had the pages reload a number of times as I read them.

Wayne,

macrumors.com (not macOSrumors.com) is a good source of Mac speculation. They are not plagued with the pop-ups and advertisements either.

And yes, I think the 5th wave is upon us :)

A dual GPU gaming book from Mac would be interesting, but I believe it's partially dependent on the last link you posted regarding universal API.
If that happens, then it leaves the door swinging wide open, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.
With regard to the next gen 'full screen' ipod, that will happen, it has to.
And as for a new cheaper mac mini, it would be welcomed to thunderous applause if it can run the improved OS.

Dave, thanks for the link in the other thread to this site.

I go through macrumors, think secret and appleinsider regularly (I give up on spymac, things just get buried in the complex architecture, like anadtech and tomshardware, that I have dropped since their supposed "upgrades" to site formats). But, interestingly, those sites don't mention much of this information, any thoughts?

I think that the new possible GPU use will be good, possibly even for future video applications.

One word though, the ATI R600 core with next gen directX support, is supposed to be coming at end of the year. This is like the GPU made for the XBOX360, but different and probably more powerful. The next gen will supposedly, be more helpful for general purpose GPU processing then the current. The instruction set capabilities of the GPU is supposedly better. So, if that option becomes available it could be preferable over the directX 9 ones current (Nvidia is also introducing theirs too, but I don't know the model number).

Thanks for the help

Wayne.
