Atomos Ninja guessing game?!

Okay I bought the Ninja, played with it, and a bit disappointed.

I figured out the pull-down in Premiere, but what is the deal on the guessing game? Meaning "Lower/upper fields." It seems like there's no 'real' algorithm to it. It's pretty much, shoot footage, drag and drop into Premiere, then figure out whether "each clip" is a lower or upper field.

Now I don't know about anyone else, but I'm shooting 8 takes minimum at 5 different angles. Times that to 100 scenes.... Well you see my problem. I'm just wondering is this really a guessing game? Because if it is. I'm shipping this sucker straight back to B&H.

Note: On a positive, the Atomos Ninja does get rid of some banding, so it would have been worth it, but... anyway.

Have you checked Sound Desigh pix 220? It looks like a much more pro product. Look it up at bhphotovideo.com

Yes, someone had mention that on a different thread. I think that may be the way to go. Although Atomos is trying there best to help me, the results are the same with this thing.
