Sony HDR-SR11(12) & missing firewire

Does someone know how you take the recorded movies into a computer or Vegas? These camcorders do not have a firewire interface? The manual is pretty vague about this, or am i missing something?

Unfortunately no firewire, just regular old USB 2.0

Im was hoping it would have firewire 800 (double the speed of regular firewire).

Im not sure about Vegas, but you can use the USB cable to transfer footage from the cam to the PC using Sony utility software or go directly to the harddrive (acts as an external drive/flash memory).

The supplied software transfers to the PC and creates files in which ever folder you have specified them to be kept. The software also then catalog's the files so that you can search by date/time in either folder( the date you transfered to computer) format or in calendar format( the date/time the clips where taken). The software stores video and stills in this way. By default the software puts its directory in "My Pictures". IF you what to edit any of the files the software is a simple editor and will make SD DVD's or AVCHD discs on normal red laser DVD's. Vegas can import these files as well as a growing number of NLE's. You can expect transfer to PC of at least 3 times realtime.

AVCHD camcorders are always USB2, never FireWire.
