AVCHD file plays back but won't open video track in Vegas

One of my several hundred AVCHD files (Canon HF100) plays back alright (Media player classic) but won't open correctly in Vegas, only the audio track opens. Any ideas how I can get access to the video information? Thanks in advance.

(I tried VLC player to stream to another file but VLC crashes with all my AVCHD files.)

Just tested TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress and was lucky. It opens the (damaged?) AVCHD file and transfers it to whatever file format I choose. Nice piece of software.

What version of Vegas? Only the most recent builds of version 8 can open canon HF100 files.

I have 8.0b, the latest version. It usually opens HF100-AVCHD files alright, except this very one (out of hundreds).
