MTS uploading Audio only

My HG10 has never had a problem, at least until now. I have 2 large clips (split into 4 because of the size limit on the camera) on my camera harddrive. I can pull all 4 clips off and place them onto my PC's harddrive. When I'm importing one specific clip into Vegas, it only imports the audio stream, no video.

I can view the entire video on the camera and in InterVideo WinDVD SE and Windows Media Player just fine, but I cannot for the life of me get it into Vegas to edit. I've never run into this issue before, although I don't use my camera too often. Any ideas as this is really the only clip I need (of course)?

The "sub" clips need to be stitched together either by the software that came with your camera or there's a little utility that you'll find referenced on this forum that will do it.

When a shot exceeds approximately 2G, AVCHD cameras "split" the cip, as you've discovered, and unless the pieces are put back together, you'll have problems, ususally the first segment of the shot won't play, or you'll get audio only... as you've discovered. Stitch it back together, and you'll be all set.

Unfortunately that didn't work for me. If I stitch the two clips together I get all audio. The first clip on its own is only 2 seconds of video & audio. The 2nd clip is approx 15 minutes of video and audio if I watch it in a viewer or on the camera, but strictly audio when I import it into Vegas. I'm wondering if the file is corrupted somehow, but I don't then understand why it appears fine to watch, just not to edit?
