Your render settings for 1080p AVHD?

Hi guys, so I just got my Canon Vixia HF200 and have been taking some test shots. Image quality is great, been getting some cool stuff in my town. However a lot of my footage will be intended to upload to the web and I notice even after rendering some of the footage in in Vegas, a quality loss occurs. So for an edit, what is your recommendation for retaining image quality when cutting and sequencing clips, and adding a music track? I am using Vegas 9, btw.

Also, just built my new computer and its running Windows 7 of course, but have not installed non stock codecs. I remember reading about some codec packs that were beneficial. If anyone can provide some helpful information about this, or links to guide/tutorial on the matter you would be my new best friend.

One possibility: do your original edit/render cycle and output in the same format as the original clips. That's what I do with my AVCHD files. Then I render for YouTube separately if I even want to upload there.
