streamclip doesn't see my mts files
MPEG Streamclip sees my .mov files, but not mts. On Mac g5 10.5osx.

It's not supposed to. MPEG Streamclip is to convert MPEG2, not AVCHD files. Unless there is a newer version that I'm not aware of.
For AVCHD you use Log&Transfer to import them into FCP. |
From what I've read on forums many suggest using streamclip for avchd conversions and it works on my pc,just not the mac. I have fcp 5.0 so it doesn't allow conversion to pro res through log and transfer.

ClipWrap 2 will convert your MTS files into ProRes or Apple Intermediate Codec MOV files that you can drag & drop into Final Cut.
I can't ever get Final Cut Express (4.x) or Final Cut Pro (6.x) to import clips from my AVCHD camera successfully with Log & Transfer, so I just use ClipWrap and it's a lifesaver. It's $50, but before you pay for it, it will let you transcode clips shorter than a minute. |
