Avid Xpress DV & Sony A1 at DVinfo.net

I am trying to dub a DV project to tape using Digital Cut
in Avid Xpress (ver3.5.4) and recording onto
a Sony A1E HDV camera (in DV mode).
I get the following error message when I try to do this...

The tape is drop frame and the mark is non drop
or the tape is non drop and the mark is drop.
Please mount the correct tape.

I got a similar error message when trying (unsuccessfully) to capture downconverted footage.

It's a PAL camera and I thought I would be able to use it with DV projects.

Does anybody know why this is happening?
