Avid Media Composer/RED Workflow, presented by Richard Gibson, Luscious International Pictures
This session focuses on the pathway from shoot to delivery, using the RED ONE Camera, Avid Media Composer and a unique workflow, to create filmic masterpieces. Presented by Richard Gibson, award-winning director with over 15 years experience and a strong understanding of film narrative, performance and visual effects. Theatre presentation.

Hands-on With Media Composer 5
You've heard the buzz, following NAB, now discover the latest innovations in Media Composer, the world's most advanced film and video editing system. This is a sneak preview, computer lab session that offers you a chance to explore the new features of Avid Media Composer 5 "live" prior to its June release. Workshop, limited to 20 participants per session!



Session 4:
Introducing Media Composer To Final Cut Pro Users
This session presents a unique opportunity to get hands-on with the latest video editing software on the market! Explore Avid Media Composer 5 to understand what the buzz is about. Get a cut above your peers and learn about Media Composer's full-featured editorial tools, its fast file-based workflows, dependable media management, and innovative features that save you time - and money. Ideally suited to aspiring professionals, independent filmmakers and current FCP users, including serious media students. Workshop, limited to 20 participants per session!

What's New In Media Composer 5

Session 6:
3D Stereoscopic
Discover Avid Media Composer's 3D stereoscopic workflow and stereo monitoring capabilities in both the composer window and full screen playback - eliminating the need for costly conforms previously required to screen 3D material. The presentation will explain the process of taking "left and right eye" footage and transforming it into stereoscopic files suitable for editing and viewing in 3D. Theatre presentation.

Hands-on With Media Composer 5

Weta Digital Presents Avatar VFX!
Matt Holmes, Supervising VFX Editor, Weta Digital Ltd will be visiting Melbourne only to present a brief overview of Weta Digital's involvement in the post production and VFX of Avatar including VFX workflow. Matt Holmes began his career with Weta Digital over 16 years ago as a VFX Co-ordinator on "The Frighteners" and following a turn as a freelance editor in Auckland, returned to Weta in 1999 to start up the editorial department, working on productions like "Lord of the Rings", "I Robot", "King Kong", "The Waterhorse", "X-Men 3" and of course, "Avatar".
