Rescue Me channels Office Space

Halfway through tonight's episode of Rescue Me, there were at least two great references to Office Space. When Tommy visits Janet at her new job, he arrives at her cubicle just as she hands a stack of papers to a co-worker, saying "here are your TPS reports." I couldn't tell if there was a cover sheet though. Then Janet introduces Tommy to the Two Bobs. Kelly and I were rolling in a fit of giggles.

Gotta say it's *still* the best-written show on television.

Just before the office scene there was an amazing steadicam shot. They were in a shop that had been burnt. It started on the street and went all through the building with various levels of smoke and lighting. I think it may have all been one take. The light levels varied tremendously as you could see how much brighter their flashlights seemed in the interior parts of the building. I don't know how much rehearsal or takes it requires to get a shot like that, but they did a fantastic job. IMDB says the show is shot on the F900 and mastered on "HDTV". That scene was really a great combination of acting, set design, lighting, camera work, and technology.
