Star Trek TOS on HD-DVD

Blast it! No Blu-ray! And I wanted to watch it on my PS3.

Oh well... Still, it's nice they released a HD-DVD for Star Trek.
I wait for the day cost-efficient global shutter 60fps capable CMOS sensors emerge for use on major manufacturers' cameras. (Sony, Canon, etc.) Rolling Shutters are a plague.

It's pretty hard to tell from the low resolution trailer on that site, but at first glance the "improved" CGI footage looks really bad to my eyes. I guess it might be fun to watch, but I question the need to "improve" on the original.

OTOH, they also added digital effects to Star Trek, The Motion Picture and those are subtle enough to not really call attention to themselves.
