The Movie Quote Game

Ok, movie quote game time!

This is how it works. One person posts a quote. Whoever identifies it correctly first then gets to post the next quote.

Rules:
-If you play, you have to check the thread once a day to tell people if they got it or not. If you don't respond for 3 days, and no one has got it, your question is void and I post a new one.
-If you are 100% sure you are right, you can just go ahead and post your new quote to speed the game up. If you are wrong though, we all laugh at you and you lose your turn.
-Lets limit it to English films only, in case there are different translations from originals. It doesn't have to be an -exact- quote, but better be darn close.
-Make it challenging, but not silly. The quote has to be unique. "I am your father" could be lots of movies and doesn't work, but "Luke I am your father" is appropriate.
-If a name is a dead giveaway, blank it out with X', doesn't have to be the same number of X's as letters. For example: "XXXXXXXXX, I am your father!"
-Yeah, you could look these up on Google, but that would be cheating.
-Yes, short coversations can be quoted without using names.

Example:

Bob: "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!"

Paul: "Star Wars?"

Joe: "Treasure Of Sierra Madre?"

Lucy: "Naked Gun?"

Bob: "You got it Joe. Treasure Of Sierra Madre."

Joe: "Ok, next quote 'Snake Pliskin, I thought you were dead?"

etc...

Dylan Couper August 14th, 2005 12:25 PM

Here's the first one:

"I fit in the army like one of them round pegs. It's not hard. You just make your bed real neat and remember to stand up straight and answer every question with "Yes, drill sergeant."

Michael Gibbons August 14th, 2005 12:29 PM

Forest Gump

Dylan Couper August 14th, 2005 12:30 PM

Forest Gump is correct. Your turn.

Michael Gibbons August 14th, 2005 12:41 PM

Christopher C. Murphy August 15th, 2005 05:53 PM

"Dawn of the Dead"

Dimitri De Keukelaere August 15th, 2005 06:02 PM

its kind of trivial
they say it in both films

Michael Gibbons August 15th, 2005 06:57 PM

I was thinking dawn, the raid on the housing complex in particular.
So it's your turn, Dimitri.

Dimitri De Keukelaere August 16th, 2005 06:33 AM

"You wanna play f***ing games, I'll give you a game."

Dimitri,

You might consider editing your line, I don't think that language is allowed here.

Mike

Dimitri De Keukelaere August 16th, 2005 07:45 AM

Mike Teutsch August 16th, 2005 08:43 PM

I am pretty sure I have this one, so I will post the next for the insomniacs to chew one tonight. If I'm wrong, my mistake.

"Pops, Dance with the devil the devil don't change, the devil changes you!"

Night all,

Mike

P.S., I think Dylan should be shot for starting this post!

M

Christopher C. Murphy August 16th, 2005 08:56 PM

8MM! I love that movie!

I almost put Crossroads (with Ralph Macchio - not Britney Spears!)

Mike Teutsch August 16th, 2005 09:00 PM

Wow, thought it would take longer! Your move Chris!

Joaquin Phoenix to Nicolas Cage in 8mm.

Mike

Christopher C. Murphy August 16th, 2005 09:17 PM

This is fun...so many awesome movies to quote! This one might be hard, but someone ought to get it...

"Everyone is blessed with one special thing."

Ok, let's start the feeding frenzy!

Mike Teutsch August 16th, 2005 09:28 PM

Kind of the same industry, I'll let someone else be it though.

Mike
