The Place Beyond The Pines

Just saw this and enjoyed it, maybe a bit biased as it was shot where I grew up in upstate NY. I thought it was shot on film and checked IMDB for confirmation, it is so. A gritty film that really benefitted from the film stock they chose. I was never one to lament the loss of film but this has me thinking about it again. I have never really seen a film stock emulator that looked as good as it's native film "mother". Hoping it won't always be the case.
