BM pocket cam and very low light

How would this camera do in very low light scenes compared to what we can do with a Canon 5DM3 and a fast lens, like the Canon 50mm f1.2 ?

Have you seen the low light footage that was posted in another thread?

That's a link to John's Vimeo page. I think it looks great in low light myself.

I think the people all look to dark. Do you think col.,or correction would help bring out their faces and still have an overall look of quality? I need to do doc work with many scenes being very low light.

Well, he's only applied a simple LUT, to give the footage some color. I've been learning Davinci Resolve Lite, and it has great control over footage. And with the 10bit Prores or the 12 bit raw, it will be able to do a lot. So if your workflow allows for the time it would take to make the footage look the way you want.

I've bought an fd to mtf adapter, and will be trying out an old 50 f1.8 fd lens I have. Also have bought the Olympus 45 f1.8. As soon as I get my hands on the pocket camera, I plan on posting some test.

What you should know about that shoot is that even during Vivid Sydney is a very dark place at night and his footage looks as good as you'd see with human eye in those areas. I was blown away by the capabilities. That's also with no additional lighting. Smack a light nearby and it'll be brilliant.
