BMPCC is on order. I need a fairly inexpensive < $500 lens.

I need point and shoot, so auto focus and image stabilization.(This is where I can make concessions)

I want a degree of low light(does not have to be real fast) and shallow depth of field. Preferably from B & H. Suggestions ?

With a less then $500 budget, there are a number of panasonic primes, that you could get. I will say I spent the money and bought the panasonic 12-35 f2.8 ($1100 lens). But with only your budget I might suggest

That's not the fastest lens, but has image stabilization. And gives you a good range. Then save up a little more money and pick up the Panasonic 20mm f1.7

maybe I'll do both. Only $600 and it seems I will have a lot of the bases covered.

i don't think you have auto focus in any Blackmagic camera, even you are using m43 lens

The BMPCC has slow autofocus for MFT lenes, and the focus target area is a single unmovable square in the middle of the image.

That's one of the lens I've purchased already. Great lens. Used it in NYC last week, on my gx1.

I like that lens except that it is Mega OIS and not the newer/better Power OIS for stabilization.

Olympus 17/1.8 would serve as an approximate normal, fast enough, auto focus, and within your price range.

Yep, the Oly 12/2, 17/1.8, 45/1.8, and 75/1.8 are darned good glass

anything new in the lens world that people have been using with great results on the Pocket camera?
Or are there any lenses to stay away from using on the Pocket Camera?

For Lumix OIS lenses the lens must have the physical switch for OIS to work on the BMPCC.

ENG camcorder lenses?
 

Has anyone here tried adapting a Canon or Fujinon ENG lens to the BMPCC yet? I have read a lot of anecdotal advice against trying this (especially with SD lenses), but I have also seen some videos that look amazing enough to give it a try. Apparently, it's hit-or-miss, as the quality and price of these lenses varies wildly, especially if you try to use the older SD lenses.

To that end, I just ordered a relatively cheap Canon lens (7mm - 105mm f/1.4, for 1/2" sensor, but has 2x teleconverter built in). The sparse data available leads me to believe that this lens image cicrcle will cover the BMPCC sensor, but I have not ordered the B4 to MFT adapter yet. I'll post more on this after the lens arrives, if anyone is interested...
