Blackmagic URSA B4 mount

Who is thinking about using Fujinon 2/3" primes on the URSA B4 when it starts shipping?

Robert Rodriguez used Sony Cinealta shooting to HDCAM with these lenses for Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Unconfirmed fact. But rumor.

Is there any info on the chip in the "URSA Broadcast"? From what I saw they just mentioned that it would be optimized for UHD.

Is the chip S35? 2/3"? Three 2/3" chips?

Nope. When they were showed at NAB they didn't have an eta or price.NAB 2014 that is...

I don't think there was mention of this camera with this mount at NAB 2015. Anyone else see it?

They scrapped it as of May 2015. Probably too expensive to produce it. B4 lens selection is much larger than any PL. It's much lighter and more feasible for field work (especially super telephoto). It was too good to be true to begin with. Looks like I have to look into the Sony F55 and B4 option.

Re: Blackmagic URSA B4 mount

I'd be really hard pressed to imagine any logical reason to use B4 primes in this day and age. The major advantage I can see for using a 2/3" camera would be the versatility, range and weight of the B4 zooms for a run and gun or doc situations where those factors would take precedence over the look of large sensors. The 2/3" primes were an attempt to bring a cinematic quality to that format when there was no S35 equivalent in the digital world.
