Hyperdeck Shuttle shipping

I am led to believe that my Hyperdeck Shuttle shipped today. Markertek has been known to mislead me about these things before, but I am operating under the assumption that it is in the mail at this point. Just wanted to let you all know!

Re: Hyperdeck Shuttle shipping

Received my unit yesterday. My first impression:

Nice solid design, but no simple way to attach the device to a camera or rig.
No ability to delete single files or to initialize the SSD on device. You need an external PC or MAC to do it.
There are no cables supplied, so likely DIN 1.0/2.3 to BNC adapter cables are required.

A problem I found: If there are more than 3 clips stored on the SSD, only the first 3 can be played back.
Tested with Crucial C300 256GB SSD.

Cheers

@ 1080i/ 4:2:2, I calculated ~ 120GB HD for 15 minutes of record time. From your experience with the Hyperdeck Shuttle, does that seem about right to you? Are you swapping more than one SSD in and out? What other brands of SSDs have you tried?

Re: Hyperdeck Shuttle shipping

From the FAQ: "A 128 GB SSD will allow you to capture about 12.5 minutes in HD".

The recorder stores 10-bit video (like 1080i30 4:2:2) with 4-audio channels (48Khz/24-bit).
Currently I am using only Crucial C300 256GB SSD modules, which can be hot swapped. It would be nice to have an optional 8-bit mode to save some storage space. Not all cameras provide 10-bit output resolution.

Re: Hyperdeck Shuttle shipping

I have to correct myself:

The recorder stores 10-bit video (like 1080i30 4:2:2) with 16 (!) audio channels (48Khz/24-bit).

Re: Hyperdeck Shuttle shipping

Received this over the weekend.

The SDI connectors are some kind of micro-SDI deal.

Where do I find this kind of cable? What is it called?
