Blu-Ray and PS3

OK, so I got a PS3 to test my Blu-Rays burned using DVDA5.

I have hit what may/may not be a problem. It's a simple menu, static picture with three text only buttons leading to the full video, some messages and a highlights clip.

When i preview it in architect, all the buttons behave as they should and link as expected.

On the PS3, only the full video link works. The messages and highlights one just cuase the menu to jump back to the start.

I'm using the controller to navigate as I don't have the official remote yet.

Am I missing a trick, or, has anyone else had any issues so far?

Yeah, I've done a couple test burns and haven't gotten my PS3 to show any menus. I can get the video files to play, but no menus. This is with DVD-5s, though, not BD-Rs.

I think PS3 needs an update to make this work. If only Vegas and the PS3 were made by the same company, maybe we could get them to work together on this...

I'm also surprised there is no 720p60 BD rendering option in Vegas 8. Tried a custom setting in AVC but that lead to undecodable video.

I have made a couple of BD-RE so far using Architect 5. They are shows of about 2 hours with about 40 chapter points set in Vegas. At first I thought i had set the navigation correctly but didn't work. I had a Play button and chapters button on the main menu and then a series of menus created by Architect for all the other chapter points. It turned out that I hadn't set up the main menu navigation correctly. I now click on each button and look at the navigation box to see where Architect is going to go in text form rather than looking at the preview. Doing it this way means one can change what is going to happen at this navigation box. All work fine on my PS3. With either controller.

Re-made the project and the buttons now work?

Other things that have cropped up that I hadn't thought of are.....you need at least double the capacity of your disc to prepare and burn the project. Then.....archiving the images is going to take awhile.
