Goodbye Canon, Hello RED?

Whilst I have been standing in Canon's corner for quite some time and having owned two 5D mark IIs, a 60D and a 7D, plus a variety of lenses... I've been waiting and watching to see what comes next.

Having read the detailed specs on the Scarlet X vs C300, I've been weighing up the pros and cons for both and I have been trying to play devil's advocate in Canon's favour. But I just can't see how the C300 has any edge over the Scarlet X... Unless there is something I'm missing.

True, the Canon works straight out of the box. But the frame rate alone that Scarlet offers with 120fps at 1K is enough to make me want to desert Canon. When I think of the opportunities and range in production that this degree of smooth slow motion will afford me on future projects...

I'll be honest. I don't relish the learning curve of starting with the RED brand, but do I have any choice considering that Canon haven't really given me anything meaty to think about that puts it ahead of (or on par) with the Scarlet X?

Only a carefully crafted Canon 5D mark III can save my loyalty now...

If you don't need the edge that the C300 has (and if you don't get it, its because it's not marketed towards you), then buy the Scarlet, problem solved!

Don't tell us, tell Canon!

Since this thread isn't really a question or discussion, I'm going to close it.
