C100: adjusting ISO \ Gain with the joystick
 

When you press the joystick the white balance \ ISO and shutter values can be navigated by pressing the joystick left or right.

I shoot 30p with the shutter at 1/30. Setting the shutter option in the main menu to 'off' disables selection of the shutter speed when you press the joystick. This is good for me as I only want to be able to set the ISO using the joystick.

Does anyone know if its possible to disable white balance selection when using the joystick? Sometimes when I running about and want to change the ISO, I inadvertantly select white balance.

Good question. I so often need to tweak the WB that I prefer it to remain an option in the joystick.

Just curious, why 1/30 as opposed to 1/60 at 30p?

I, too, lock down my shutter speed. But, unless/until it gets dark, I try to maintain 1/60.

I shoot mainly very low-light weddings. Using 30p gives me more light. The brides (and me) have never had a problem with supposed motion blur at that frame rate.

Usually I set the WB once or twice during the whole evening where as the ISO I will alter many times.

Nice. I, too, drop down to 1/30 for the darker interiors. Try to stick with 1/60 when it's light enough though (the supposed 180º rule, right?) but who knows if the brides would ever know...
