APS-C lenses on C100?

Has anyone used APS-C lenses on the C100? I assume they will work fine but the C100 sensor is slightly larger than APS-C so there may be a problem on some lenses. I am particularly interested in the new Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 lens.

Re: APS-C lenses on C100?

The 17-55 2.8 IS works on the C100/C300 no problems so I would assume the 18-35mm should work. Should. Speaking of which I am about to call B&H and pre-order this lens for my 7D right away. It was noted that using peripheral illumination correction would help eliminate a little bit of the mild light falloff that does occur around the edges with crop lenses. This will probably be the next go-to for normal/wide shots on S35 cameras like the fs700 as well.

The C100's EF-S mode should work for non Canon APS-C lenses too, I guess. Maybe someone with the Tokina can test...?

Need clarification- Then the above lens is a 11-16 mm on the C100 and not a 16-24 mm lens? When does one interpolate lens size? Only if it's a Canon EF lens?

It's 16 to 24 with crop factor on the C100. The crop factor isn't factored in on APS-C lenses.

Re: APS-C lenses on C100?

There is a special APS-C mode in the C100 - if you get any vignetting with a certain lens, you dive into the Special Functions section of the wrench menu, and the camera crops in a little to match the APS-C mode.

You can assign this toggle on/off to your 'my menu' star setting IIRC.

I've not needed to use it on my Canon 17-55 or Tokina 11-16. My rough and ready tests (not charts) don't show client-visible degradation.

Re: APS-C lenses on C100?

When you are using third party lenses on the c100, does the f-stop show in info area if you have that on?

I have a Sigma 120-300 f/2.8, not a APS-C lens, but full frame, and the f-stop does not show in the info window and I had to use the ISO setting, shutter and ND filters to correct for exposure. Am I missing something?

Thank you.
