Has anyone tried any of the Pelican hard cases to carry their C100 in? I've been eyeing the 1510

Yes, fits fine. My C100 sits upright with grip attached, no problem. The 1510 lid with zippered pockets is pretty darned handy, too.

I know this is opening an old thread, but I too am looking for a decent hard case for the C100 & accessories. Any chance you can post a pic of yours with the C100 in it?

I prefer the removable dividers - you can tailor the case to your job/trip.

Thanks for that. The dividers may make more sense. What is that under the handle?

Looks like a spare battery, couple of lenses, headphones, viewfinder (Z-Finder?) wireless mic, and the silver box is ….?

Sorry to be a bit late to the party, but I have to admit something: I actually prefer the Storm range to the PeliCase. I just prefer the way they come together, the way that the catches don't want to skin your knuckles, the way you can replace the wheels. Little things. I have Peli and Storm cases. Nice kit tends to go into the Storm cases. LOL

So...

Has anyone got the iM2500 for a C100 with bits?

Has anyone worked out if you can jam a MacBook Pro 17" in there somewhere? Lid?

I think I need to pay close attention to cases when I go back down to BVE in Feb. I've been looking at these for some time, on and off, and I'm not at all bothered about having to get on an aircraft with it at this point, but it maybe something that's going to happen in the future.

Currently I'm lugging everything round in a couple of these:

neither of which meet airline specs, but they do hold a ton of stuff!

i'm also a fan of the movable dividers. foam, be it pluck and pick or pre cut, wastes a lot of space to maintain it's form, you get a lot more usable space with padded dividers. You do lose some protection, but i've never felt my equipment to be at risk with the padded dividers.

calumetphoto sells the dividers separatly, and i DIY'ed it into a roller luggage:

Nice video on the bag. Trouble is I just checked the carry on restrictions for a couple or airlines in the UK. We get screwed all over again.

So even the Peli is too big AND weighs too much even when empty! Gimme a break!

BA and EasyJet don't weigh your bag - they say 'if you can get it in the overhead bin, you can take it on'. I regularly fly BA with a 15-17 Kg backpack and a Scott-e-Vest that may contain a DSLR kit or V-Lock battery or two (1 Kg eagch).

I try and make a BA ticket like a 'contract rider' item. I can cite the case of a colleague who flew RyanAir a year or so ago - by the time he got on the plane, it cost him far more than the BA flight.

These guys aren't perfect - they charge excess bags by item, not weight. Extra bags are £27-32 each way in Europe. Anything over 23 Kg and you pay £40-60 each way for a 'heavy' bag. Anything over 32 Kg goes by freight. So rather than have neat little bags for your monitor, your Ninja, your lights and a tripod, one ends up getting one huge trunk and shoving it all in there. Or what Darren did.

That's why I like a ThinkTank backpack over a roller for carry-on - "sheesh, it must be fairly light, it's on his back!" (and those wheels and telescopic handle take up valuable space)
