Data Import Utility not preserving timecode

I can keep the original timecode when I use Adobe Prelude to ingest the footage and then import into Premiere, but if I use Data Import Utility the clips have no timecode. The problem with doing it with Prelude is that it doesn't understand relay recordings and so the clip that starts on the second card doesn't have timecode.

I called the 24/7 Canon support line and neither of 2 reps were able to help. I also can't find anyone having similar trouble online, but I wonder if part of this is that few people rely on timecode anymore.

Thanks guys.
