C100 slomo MTB downhill video

Hi
Here is an MTB downhill video I shot recently using the C100 which contains slo-mo gained by shooting in 50i slowed to 50% and up to 25% in some cases on a 25p timeline in FCPx. For me the results are good except for the obviously slightly softer footage when compared to 25p footage from the C100. Obviously the ideal camera would be a FS700 for this sort of work but sometimes you have to work with what you've got!

I added Frame Blending in FCPx which helped to remove some of the stuttering in the slowest footage (slowed up to 25%) optical flow just didn't work as the results where not good. I also experimented with slowing the footage down in After Effects using "Frame Mix" frame blending but felt it was only a little better than what FCPx could do. Good results using Timewarp or Twixtor in AE are not possible without a lot of masking and rotoscoping etc. As I said above, in order to get the sort of superslomo used in this type of video you would be better using a FS700 or similar camera. However, as a basic slo-mo tool, the C100 holds up quite well - I now have a GH4 so I can't wait to try its flavour of 96fps.
