Promotion on the Canon C300 and C500
 

Has anyone else seen this: Cinema Camera Deals, Promotions & Packages | Canon Cinema EOS

Looks like Canon is lowering the price on their popular C300, maybe to meet the competition. B&H has lowered the price it seems.

Maybe now is the time to buy or are they releasing something new?

Promotions are normal and common ways all the manufacturers use to boost sales. They are not only used when a model is going to be replaced. When the Cinema cameras were announced it was a big deal and they were brand new. Canon had a big event to announce it with a long drumroll to create excitement. These days, announcing upgrades to an existing models is usually aligned with a trade show. It depends how big of a deal it is. Bottom line is that people who know cannot say.

You know, it's not out of the question that a C300 update is on the horizon. Still, like all Canon things, no breath should be held.
