C300 Mark II Custom Picture

So, the new Mark II camera can't accept Custom Picture files from the old Mark I camera. I'm at a loss as to how to get my old "favorite" looks, established after 3 years with the Mark I, over to my new camera. If anyone has a work-around, please let me know.

I really don't think it's going to be possible. The color on my Mark II doesn't seem to be any kind of match for the original camera (even in CLog, rec 709, Original Cinema EOS Color Matrix, which, you'd think would be there for exactly that purpose :-)..so any "looks" that were designed for the C300, even if you could load them on the Mark II, wouldn't match in any meaningful way. On the other hand, I feel like the footage of the new camera is so much more "gradable" than the original, so I'm sure in post you can match up to your older camera should you want to. Or simply get make friends with the joystick on the camera and start building new CPs.:-)

Has anyone made scene files to match an original C300... to allow easy matching on two cam shoots? Abel Cine has good scene files for the original C300, wondering if anyone has attempted this on the Mark ii?

I found some notes in the new c300 manual that say that the "original Cinema eos" matrix is designed to match the C500 in a specific mode. I think though, that using it in combination with the rec 709 LUT, it's a pretty decent match for the old c300...but this is really dumbing down what the new camera can do.

I will check out the Rec 709 functions and see what matches. It dumbs it down, but I do a lot of 2 camera shoots and post does not want to take the time to color correct. Otherwise, I would shoot C-log and let God sort it out.
