Contrast/Saturation adjustment of EOS profile
I'm used to shooting with a 5D Mk III and just bought a C100 Mark II that I want to match with it.
Wiht my 5D I use the 'Standard Profile' which is too contrasty and the saturation is too high for my liking.. So all I did was lower the contrast and saturation a bit in the profile. What can I do to the C100 Mk II for similar contrast/saturation adjustment? I'm using the EOS profile but there is no 'Contrast or Saturation' adjustment that I can see. Now I'm guessing that Master Pedestal will make the blacks less black which is what I want for 'contrast' but what about Saturation? How do I do an overall reduction of saturation on the EOS profile? There is no master saturation setting that I can see only low key saturation which drops the saturation in the blacks.. I want to reduce saturation evenly.. Can this be done? And regarding Contrast is Master Pedestal the only adjustment I should use in this instance for what I'm trying to achieve? Thanks.. -Frank |
Re: Contrast/Saturation adjustment of EOS profile
There's a very deep "custom picture" menu structure on the EOS cinema cameras. Though if you're not going to use the EOS standard profile on the C100 pretty much as-is, you're probably better served finding other profiles on both cameras to match better. I know some have had success using Wide DR on a C100 and the Video-X profile on Canon DSLRs (google it--Canon released it near the end of the DSLR revolution to better match them to the XF-camcorders).
