C100 Internal Battery at DVinfo.net

I tried posting this on DVX User but no-one offered any ideas so I am trying here.

I have a C100 mk1 that is not remembering the settings when turned on (asking for date etc). I have followed the manuals instructions as per leaving it plugged into the mains via the charger for 24 hours. Still no joy. I am assuming the internal battery has come to the end of its life but have found no information on swapping it out. There is a little panel behind hidden by the closed LCD that I opened hoping for access but this just gives access to some kind on connector.

Does anyone know if there is a away to change this battery or some other fix? There is no Canon service centre in my country.
