Great Zoom Lens from 30-70mm ish for weddings.

Hi, I own a 7D with a 30mm Sigma Prime. I love it. I'm wanna get something that is between my 30mm and 70-200mm Sigma Zoom that has the Zoom Option. I'd like something that is not fixed and possibly has IS.

Thoughts?

I second the 24-70 L series 2.8

I know the 24-70 L lens and it's a cracker...but it lacks IS. I don't do weddings but I'd go with the Canon 17-55 F2.8 EF-S AF USM. It has near silent Image Stabilisation which is really effective for video and razor sharp optics (for stills capability) - assuming it's reach on the long end is good enough for you Wedding shooters.

I can't find a single lens in the 24-75mm zoom range that has IS. Not from Canon, nor any of the third parties. I didn't spend a lot of time looking, so one might be out there. But still, if it is, then it might not be easy to find.

Since the OP seems to favor Sigma, he/she might not be able to afford a Canon L lens. The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 and the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 are good alternatives for about a third of the price (for a used copy).

Canon 25-105mm F4 L is pretty good in normal lighting. Lower light though it's not much use...
