Canon 50mm 1.4

Hey guys, I am about to buy a Canon 50mm 1.4 lense for my T2i and was wondering if anyone out there knew what is the diameter around the focus ring of the lense. Because I am going to buy a follow focus and was wondering what size gear ring to buy. Thanks you.

Good question. I know the Lens Filter size is 58mm but is that the same diameter you would need for the gear.

Michael, I have that lens and there is no information anywhere on the measurement of the focus ring, I just bought the D-Gear from Jag35 in that's supposed to work with any follow focus, D|Gear | Jag35.com

Hey Michael Rees,
A bit out of subject: I am also tempted to buy this lens, but I'm still comparing this one and the Sigma 50mm 1.4. When you'll receive it could you give us some feedback? Thank you

I use my 50 1.4 with the ProAim FF from DV City...works great! And it comes with enough gears for a bunch of lenses. Get the V3 reversible.
