Canon 7D for chroma key?

Been asked about the feasibility of using a 7D for a chroma shoot? Anyone tried this? Any possible obstacles? We're going to be shooting talent in a in front of a green screen to composited into animated graphics using After Effects.

7D will work fine for CK ... A lot of people shoot vertical with DSLRS because you have more lines of resolution and get possible a better image

Works fine. Assuming you light it properly and have decent keying software.

7D works well with greenscreen in both daylight and tungsten which is nice. Its codec actually helps in some ways with how it smooths together chroma more than other codecs. Watch out for shooting with high fill and flat tones though on the subject as you might run into some issues with blocking.

I have 2 quick posts on shooting keys with it.

This one had 82 shots at over 5 minutes. A little buzzing with the hair but that would have happened in most cases regardless:

Heres the blocking issue - its ugly:

I was able to blend that footage pretty well with RED footage in the same comp though. Shoot the look of the subject as close as you can get though.
