Video transfer from SDHC card problem

I just recently bought a Transcend 16GB SDHC card and recorded a 1.41GB clip that won't transfer. I have other clips that will transfer that are still in the KB range on the same card but for some reason this one won't do it..I'm just dragging and dropping them in a folder.

Any help?

Thanks!
Terry.

This came up before not so long ago in this forum. It was solved by using a card reader that properly supports SDHC.

Hmm alright. I was doing it straight from my camera to my computer. I thought that would be the best way.. I will have to use a card reader then..

Terry,
If you were trying to transfer over a USB cable from the camera to the computer and you were successfully copying other files from the card, there should have been no problem with the larger file.

It's not that large.

If by direct from the camera to the computer you mean pulling the SDHC card out of the camera and plugging it into the SD slot on the computer, then you may very well be running into the need for an SDHC compatible reader that plugs into a USB port

Try plugging the SDHC card into an SDHC capable reader (most recently built computers with an SD slot will read SDHC directly.

Transcend cards are attractively priced but I've seen just enough reports of varying kinds of failure to make me stay away from them. In some cases Canon techs are telling folks with buffer over run problems that the cameras can be a bit brand "picky". The techs usually advise SanDisk Extreme III for the T1i and T2i and those who follow that advice see their problems "go away".
