Glidecam HD 1000 or FlyCam Nano for T2i
 

Hi all it has been a while since I have posted on the forums. I got the T2i back in April and have truly accomplished some great things with this tool. I came from a video production background always using video cameras and was new to the DSLR world. I can say that picking this up and learning it has helped me become a better videographer overall.....

Anyway here is my question, I am looking into getting a steadicam....But really only have around 400 beans to spend. I am leaning towards the Glidecam HD1000 for my T2i.

However, I was just recently put on to a cheaper product that is pretty much a direct clone of the HD1000 (330 beans) minus the fine adjustment knobs, the FlyCam Nano which goes for about 125 beans.

I know of the Merlin as well as the Blackbird...but they are pushing the price limits. What do you guys think of the Glidecam HD1000 or FlyCam Nano is it a good match with the T2i? Will it be a good decision in the long run? I am willing to save the money to put in more time balancing, but I don't know if the FlyCam can put out matching results to the Glidecam.

Opinions? Thoughts?

Check this review out - Flycam will do the job but doesn't have the fine tuning adjustment like the Glidecam. I have a Flycam5000 that I have a devil of a time balancing. I don't use it often enough to balance it out quickly so I'm considering the Glidecam HD1000 if I had the cash - I think I'll wait a bit to see if more folks go with the Flycam Nano.

Hi Sean....Thanks a lot for the response, I too was leaning away from the FlyCam Nano....So now it is down to the 2000PRO and the HD1000 glidecams....

I am leaning towards the 2000PRO it is cheaper on Bn'H then the HD1000 by about $50 and am willling to deal without the fine tuning knobs...Later down the road if I want to move up to a bigger model I will have up to 6lbs on the 2000PRO instead of only 3lbs on the HD1000.

I have a question in your blog post it said you tried the 2000PRO, good results I assume??

I cant wait to get it in, thanks man for your help.
