magic lantern kelvin wb

been using magic lantern for a while now and loving it! I have the most recent update. On the magic lantern page it reads that a feature is kelvin white balance in video mode. I REALLY want this, but I'm not seeing it anywhere in the menu. Anyone have any input?

Also, every time I power down the camera all the magic lantern settings I use get reset. There a way for it to remember your preferred settings?

Anyone know the status of the 60D version?

Latest builds here. http://groups.google.com/group/ml-de...24eda943eecdcf.
This build is better, as the screen clears to adjust WB, shutter and iso

save settings

"save config" on the "debug" tab of ml.

For the Canon T2i/550d Alex and company are rolling out two or three versions a day, for testers. Right now the emphasis is on trying to solve HDMI monitoring issues, to get crop marks, zebras, and other overlay items to report properly on the HDMI screen. Some of the new versions of Jan 26, 2011 may not be as stable as the Jan 22 version, that I am currently running. One of my favorite things in the current build I am using is the pop up false colors, that is invoked by pressing the flash button while in movie mode.

On the Canon 5 D front, AJ Newman is developing a radical new Magic Lantern version that changes the whole screen layout, and has popup focusing aid and, once again, false colors for exposure aids.

Chris, can you elaborate on what you mean by "false colors"? What does this feature do exactly and what does it show?

Ger Griffin January 28th, 2011 01:44 PM

Im very excited about the auto restart. hopefully no more 12 min record limit. Testing it right now.
Also the WB can be triggered to go auto and then press set for manual finetune. Fantastic.
I must look into false colours myself. Focus peak is also a great feature for on the fly stuff.
Dont forget to donate something to these guys if you are a pro and avail of ML.

Well i just continuosly recorded for 1hr 24mins before my (third party) battery ran out.
There is only a very small time gap in between each 4gb clip (less than a second i reckon).
Happy days.

hang on, the new ML for 550d allows for continuous recording? auto restarts every 12 mins?

Russ Ivey February 1st, 2011 07:47 AM

I'm interested in knowing more about the continuous recording thing myself. If it "auto restarts", does that mean that it really isn't continuous? I mean, wouldn't it still separate the videos out and potentially have a small/quick gap between the two recordings?

Separate files. 1-2 second gap. There isn't enough memory available to buffer the video in the gap because of the camera's high bit rate.
