Sony clm-v55....warning
 

Just purchased one for my 7d after getting the impression on the net it was compatible. The answer is no it isn not!!! It displays an image which is not much bigger than that of the built in lcd and does not even upscale/change whatsoever when you press record. I have searched the manuals of the camera and the lcd and cannot fix the problem. Or am I missing something?

That monitor can't upscale so it won't be a good match for any Canon DSLR.

Return it if you can and get one that will. Marshall and SmallHD both work well with those cameras.
