lcd viewfinder
Hi all,
i am looking for an lcd viewfinder for my 60d. obv would love the z finder by zacuto. but can't afford. i have had a look at big eye and lcdvf. Does anybody own these? Also i have found the lcdvf brother at a cheaper price on ebay. thanks |
Re: lcd viewfinder
I use the LCDF on my 60D. Very happy with it. You won't be able to fully close the screen, but that's no big deal - you just have to be careful with it, as you do any other camera with an exposed screen.
It also works fine when you articulate the screen, one of the key selling points of this camera - and the Z Finder won't do that. Budget options - just be careful about the optical quality. There's no point buying a loupe to guarantee focus if the optics don't give you complete confidence. Ben. www.bengiles.co.uk |

The only loupe for the 60D that it not too heavy or requires a bracket. The L-Finder @ http://FrugalFilmmakers.com/2010/11/18/the-l-finder/ |

Re: lcd viewfinder
So here's a possibly dumb question- I was about to buy one of these LCDVF knockoffs because I hear nothing but great things about them. Then I found this:
http://www.amazon.com/GGS-Hoodeye-Foldable-Viewfinder-Magnification/product-reviews/B004HD3G6Q/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_helpful?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending for slightly more money, you get what appears to be the same functionality as the LCDVF plus an added screen protector (which you'd have to get separately) and the ability to either remove it entirely (like the LCDVF) or merely flip it up. Am I missing something? Is there a disadvantage to this? It seems like the obvious better deal. Anyone? |

Re: lcd viewfinder
how much is the hoodman/
how about this? LCD viewfinder x2,8 for Canon EOS 5D MKII 7D 550D 60D | eBay UK |
Re: lcd viewfinder
Most LCD viewfinders attach on the lcd with magnets.
Most of the times these magnets are not that strong and the viewfinder keeps faling down. I prefer LCD viewfinders that have a better and sturdier way of mounting but can be unmounted eazily and they don't occupy the hot shoe or the tripod thread as I need both for other purposes. This GGS LCD Viewfinder Loupes 3X For 7D 5DII 550D 600D ab41 | eBay UK is the best solution I've found so far and it's not expensive either. It has a 4/3 shape but fits on 3/2 screens too. |
Re: lcd viewfinder
I hate using LCD viewfinders that you have to glue a metal plate onto the camera. The best solution would be a sun shade like this:
Delkin PRO Pop Up Sun Shade for Canon EOS 40D (DC40D-P) - Jessops - LCD Shades / Hoods and then you can glue the LCD viewfinder on it but I can't find one for the 60D stelios |
Re: lcd viewfinder
sounds good,
what do you think of it? also with the loupe, does it cover everything in the viewfindeR? Thanks |
