Canon T2i faulty power switch (or maybe door sensor)?

Hello all,

The T2i has been my go-to camera since 2010. Recently I decided to complement it with a second T2i for some two-camera action. I bought one on eBay (it was the only listing that made mention of the shutter count), and all seemed well at first. But now, two weeks in, I'm having this problem...

Tapping, or otherwise applying pressure to, the power switch occasionally makes it turn off. Sometimes it turns off for no apparent reason. Sometimes it won't turn back on.

Is it a faulty power switch? A faulty memory card or battery door sensor? An internal fault that would best be left to a repair shop? I'm not sure. I've tried multiple batteries, cards, and lenses. My original T2i has never had a problem like this. For what it's worth, it looks like this camera was once used with a grip, because the battery door doesn't seem to be the original. Could something have been damaged? (I tried swapping battery doors too.)

I know this is probably not something I can repair myself, and it should probably be returned to the seller. But does this problem make anyone think, "Oh! You just need to use a paper clip to depress the door sensor!" or something along those lines? I just want to rule any quick fixes out before I look my camera in the eye and say, "I'm sorry we couldn't be friends." (I get sentimental about gear, yes.)
