Is anyone using iMovie 08

Just wondering whether anyone is using iMovie 08 to edit footage from the Canon 5D mark11? I am having troubles with the application crashing and wondering whether others are experiencing the same.

It does not crash for me. It's crazy slow when generating thumbnails of several large files. But after that's completed, it performs nicely.

No problem

Thanks for that Gary. How are you importing your footage? iMovie crashes on me when I move along the timeline with the cursor when about to edit. I'm running an iMac 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo with 4GB of SDRAM - maybe the G5 makes the difference.

I first convert the raw footage to prores 422

Then import the file into imovie 08.

I just imported a vid file from the cf card into iMovie HD, 6.xx and it was easy, not converted to prores. Then exported as custom and sent as a HD file to vimeo.

I much prefer iMovie HD to 08. So many features were lost in 08.

The HD files created by 6.xx are rejected from vimeo and utube and won't import into fcp either.???
