What setting should I use

Hi
I have just got Final cut pro so I can finally edit my 5dmk2 footage without using iMovie! Can someone please tell me what "easy set up" is best for 5dmk2 footage as I was going to use the HDV 1080p 30 frames setting is that the best or should I use a different setting?
Thanks
Mark

I convert my files to prores in compressor and edit in that format. The file sizes are much larger but they run really well.

Create a new FInal Cut Pro project and import your footage. Next, drop a clip from the bin into a sequence. FCP will ask you if you want it to match the sequence settings to the clip. Select "Yes".

You may find it better to transcode to ProRes in compressor first. Or even use MPEGStreamclip to convert to XDCAM EX.

So I'm trying the convert to prores in compressor formula...
Got any quicker suggestions?
Just seems like it shouldn't take this long to get the footage to work in FCP.
