The Canon 5DMKII is Canon's way of getting back at Nikon...
 
Was just thinking... Canon is probably not going to fix the 5DMK II camera as to making
it more user friendly in the video mode.

Why, because Canon is just sittin back and watching everyone hack, chop and file down
the Nikon lenses, making them somewhat useless for their intended purpose on a Nikon
body... thats one way Canon can get back at Nikon :-0

Nikon lenses will still mount on a Nikon camera even if some protrusions are removed from the end of the lens. It is not necessary to change the Nikon mount. The protrusions must be removed to allow mirror clearance.

As I understand it, the protrusions are merely to keep the lens from being damaged if set down without the rear cap.
