DV Info Net - reviewing scenes on laptop

I'm preparing to use the 5D2 in a shoot. I want the director to view scenes on a decent-sized monitor as they are shot and view them again immediately upon request.

It would be most convenient for me to just bring a laptop with some spare batteries. This is what I am used to when shooting stills and I wouldn't have to buy a portable HDMI monitor.

Using USB and the Canon EOS utility I can get a great view when shooting (although the stripes at top and bottom bother me so much I may put masking tape over them).

For reviewing it would be ideal to click a button and have it play over the USB cable again immediately, but I can't figure out how to do that, at least with Canon software. It seems like it would be easy to implement.

Does someone know how to do this with any kind of software? The camera could think it was copying the file and the laptop software would just stream it into QuickTime.

Right now the only immediate way I can find to view a clip again is to use the small LCD on the camera. The director is not going to be happy with that.

I can use USB to copy the movie file over and view it in Quicktime, but that only transfers at 2X (80 mbits/sec), so a one minute clip would take about 30 seconds to transfer. This would be convenient but slow.

I can pop the CF card out of the camera and into the PC and get about 200 mbits/sec, or 5X (1 minute clip in 12 seconds). This is less convenient but faster.
