Steadicam Merlin with 5D2?

Just wondering if anyone has used a Steadicam Merlin with the 5D2. I'm toying with getting one to replce a clunkier Glidecam 2000, but would like some feedback from anyone who's tried one before I pull out the plastic.

Hi Dylan:

I haven't tried that camera on the Merlin yet but I did play with it on the Blackbird, a new competitor to the Merlin (see my NAB review in our articles section) and it worked nicely. I would take a look at both before making a decision.

I used to own a Merlin and I would just guess it would be a real pain to balance. Just a guess though.

We've got a Merlin and it works great. Better than the V1 we originally bought it for.
Just pick a nice wide angle lens that isn't too heavy.

I have used the Merlin with the 5d using the ef 24-70 L lens, and it works fine with me.

I've used it with the 24 1.4 and it balances really nicely--here's a short video I made recently:

Thanks guys!
Going to check out the Blackbird and another I found called the Longbow before I go with a Merlin.
