Monitor options for 5D

Guys, I'm bying 5D and would love to have your advice on monitor, I'm thinking ikan V5600 with HDMI, but is HDMI port on MKii will work in live view, or just for the viewing footage?

I'm using a smallHD DP1, which has all the standard input ports including HDMI. The 5D's HDMI port is active in LiveView with a 1080i signal, but Canon reduces it to 480p while recording. I'm working on fixing that in my firmware.
