FCP 7 doesn't like AAC 48KHz conversion from Canon 5d mk2

Hi
I am using MPEG Streamclip to prepare my 5D files for FCP. I am following the Philip Bloom settings..he recommends Apple Pro Res LT. However, in an attempt to convert over the sound from 44.1kHz to 48kHz and I am setting MPEG streamclip's audio settings to Apple AAC 48.kHz. FCP doesn't like this when I drag a clip into the timeline and puts up a red line. When I remove the audio from the clip, the red line disappears....so what to do?

I thought this would be a good work flow so that I could have a 48kHz audio time line which would mesh up with sound from camcorders like the XHA1.

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like your timeline has a 44.1khz setup, and your audio is 48khz. Fix one or the other!

Aac

No, I made a mistake in MPEG Steamclip settings. In unprocessed audio, you can set it to transcode to 48.kHZ. I missed this before. AAC is compressed audio and FCP doesn't like it and wants to render the audio everytime. I discovered that it was the audio when I remove the audio from the timeline.

With MPEG Streamclip using ProRes you should set the audio to 48 kHz 'Uncompressed'. You will then not have to render in the timeline. 'Linear PCM' @ 48 kHz for export from QT7.
