I found this while browsing the interwebs... it's only for Sony Vegas. Just wondering if anyone has tried it yet?

I tried it on Vegas 9c and i wasn't able to make it work;
very unstable, after you open the effect window it crashes Vegas every time

Won't download it then, thanks! Too bad no one has made something like it though. Seems like a simple plug in to make.

it says it's designed for Vegas Movie Studio, but I've read elsewhere that it does work with Vegas Pro 9. But that said, you need to edit the Windows registry (Eeeek!) and add the coordinates of both the stuck and corrective pixels, before you first apply the plug in. Any errors in doing so, cause the plug in to crash. The instructions aren't all that clear, but if you email the developer, I'm sure that he would help you out.

Here's my standard disclaimer: Edit the Windows registry at your own risk. Make a backup of the registry and a restore point before doing so.

Also, there is a similar plugin for other products (but I've never tried it):

and Adobe After Effects CS4 has a built-in plug-in (Wire Removal) that is a point to point line remover. But you can get it to fill "holes" using surrounding pixels.

If my 5DII had hot/dead/stuck pixels then it would be returned to Canon to be fixed. However dust & other muck on the sensor is a potential problem with DSLRs & in our early days of using DSLRs for video we had frequent problems. However careful attention to lens hygiene especially when changing lenses & storing the camera gear in a room where the cats cannot sleep on it has helped a lot.

Me too, but it wasn't from my camera, but from a shoot with 2 5DmkIIs and 2 7Ds. I'm not sure who'se camera it was from as the DP changed bodies up from scene to scene (not that it matters now). Fortunately, it's only in 3 scenes. Unfortunately, they are the first three.

As long s the FCP is being mentioned, Digital Heaven's DH_Reincarnation plug in is a gem. Will remove any dead pixel or dust speck up to 8 X 8 pixels, in a second. The coolest plug in I have ever used. Off course, it is meant for FCP, not Vegas...
