Best lens for shooting a wedding in low light
 

So your shooting a wedding. The venue has soft lighting. You have some lighting but you font want push it and get the bride upsetm. What would you use? A prime? What kind? What would you put on a glidecam? On a glidecam you can't focus.

On a Glidecam I will normally use 20mm f2.8, it is easier to keep every thing in focus on glidecam, if there is any faster than 2.8 and can afford it could be better, what every one else think about that?

Definitely the faster the better! Canon and Zeiss make a 24 F1.4 that could be handy on a glidecam. As Charles Papert suggested in another thread somewhere, use a DOF calculator to figure out your hyperfocal, near, and far, to see how much wiggle room you have with your plane of focus at a given aperture. I used to think setting the lens at infinity on a 24mm was the solution, but using the DOF calculator gives you way more flexibility depending on how you need to frame the shot.

Another idea would be to discuss the lighting of the venues with the bride and groom and then contacting the appropriate vendors to make sure everything happens without a hitch. This plays a huge part in the outcome of your video, the photos, and it makes the designer look better, etc... If the bride is going to get upset by your lighting configuration then their could be a communication barrier that needs to be broken. Just thoughts and ideas...
