29.97 or True 30fps

I searched the forums on this, but now I'm more confused.

I just got my 5Dmk2. It came with firmware 2.0.8. It has options for 24p and 30p. I see in the forums that the 30p used to be true 30 fps but that the updated firmware was supposed to "correct" that to 29.97fps.

Is that correct? Does it shoot 29.97 out of the box with 2.0.8 without Magic Lantern?

What is 24p and 30p in this camera now?

This is what wikipedia is really good for.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTSC

Yes, the firmware that ships with new 5d models corrects the frame rate to the ACTUAL NTSC standard.
