Paintball with a 5D?
 

Anyone shot any paintball with a 5D? I've always shot tourneys with my XH but thinking about using my 5D that I have now. I'm concerned about how to shoot it though, the DOF is so shallow even stopped down quite a bit, without a monitor and a follow focus it seems like it'd be pretty hard and I'm reluctant to bring expensive gear like that onto the field. Plus using a VF is pretty much out because of the mask.

Jsut curious to hear other people's thought's on this.

I'd recommend a rain cover (or some sort of protection) to help protect the body, just be careful as this will add to overheating issues.

I'd also go with a Z-finder, or the like. Something that will help you keep focus, add a third point of contact, and help protect that back LCD.

Tested out some gear and I'm leaning toward a Captain stubling style rig, and cover it like you said in a rain cover. I'm probably going to pass on a Z-finder though an go straight for an EVF, so I can get low and still see what I'm shooting

if i'm correct, that video is paintball, and its all 5d2... but also there is a weird filter they put on it... i don't like it but at least you can get an idea that it can be done.
